International Shipping
Bellair provides services for international exporting (shipping from the United States) and importing (shipping to the United States from another country).
The information below addresses shipments originating from the United States and destined for another country, including Puerto Rico. These are considered international shipments and known as exporting. For imported shipments please contact Bellair directly for details.
Bellair can provide exporting services for non-hazardous materials to any country U.S. law allows. Bellair will file all required shipping documentation with the appropriate U.S. and foreign governmental organizations on your behalf. Some customers file these documents themselves and provide Bellair with the associated information.
General Requirements
Below is required information needed for international shipments. Additional requirements may apply depending on foreign destination and/or monetary value of the shipment. Also, laws and regulations can and will change by country at any time. Bellair will ensure all current requirements are met.
- Incoterms® are internationally recognized statements of legal terminology for customs agencies provided as an acronym and accompanying text. The term is typically agreed upon during the purchase negotiations between the seller and buyer and later provided to Bellair for inclusion on required documentation. See International Chamber of Commerce's website for more information.
- Harmonized codes for materials being shipped. The Harmonized System is a global classification system used to provide an internationally agreed upon definition of an item. More information about the Harmonized System is provided by the International Trade Administration.
- A Recipient's Broker is required to handle customs related documentation at the shipment's foreign destination. If you have not obtained a Recipient's Broker Bellair will provide assistance.
- Be aware that all packages, shipped domestic or international, are subject to search upon the discretion of a Bellair representative, airline, linehaul or courier tendering your shipment, contracted pick up or delivery agent; and all foreign or domestic governmental agencies or law-enforcement with jurisdiction.
Additional Documentation
Additional documentation may be necessary for some destinations. Bellair will ensure all proper documentation is accounted for.
Certificate of Origin
To comply with certain trade agreements, your shipment may require Certificate of Origin documentation.
- Certificate of Origin for the United States Mexico Canada agreement (USMCA).
